Note: Some courses may require special permission numbers in order to register.

Special permission numbers (SPN) are six-digit numbers that allow you to register for a class that technically is closed or is not available for open registration. Special permission numbers are given out by the department or the course instructor. They are not given out by the Dean’s office and they are not used for pre-requisite overrides or maximum credit overrides. Some departments such as Economics do not use SPN’s.
